Ruth

Founder and Director of Practice Mercy Foundation
McAllen, TX via Monterrey, Mexico

Alma Ruth believes that when women lose hope, the world falls apart. She founded Practice Mercy in 2019 as an initiative to serve women and their children caught in the crossfire of the complex immigration system. Since then, she has focused on serving this extremely vulnerable population along the “RGV”, Rio Grande Valley. Alma makes weekly trips to bring critical supplies, get first hand updates of the situation on the ground, as well as provide spiritual support and counseling.

Alma Ruth immigrated to the United States from Monterrey, Mexico. She graduated from Bible College in Northern Mexico in 1988 and received cross-cultural missionary training in Wisconsin and Jamaica in 1990. Since then, she has been involved in international faith-based work in Cuba, Slovakia, Czech Republic, North India, the West Bank, and Turkey.

Alma Ruth is currently validating her Biblical Studies degree from Mexico through Stark Bible College and Seminary at their McAllen Campus. She previously co-founded Mexico to the Nations, a missional movement that trained teams of young Mexican seminary students to serve in the Middle East and South Asia by providing humanitarian relief and faith-based support.
